Homework, Assignments, and InstructionsHomework assignments will vary and change throughout the year. In addition to fun, family projects, students will have daily reading homework. Students will learn sight words in the beginning of the year, and focus on reading paperback "travel books" during the second half of the year. You will be astounded at how quickly your child learns to read!
Our first family homework assignment will be to complete an "Overall Me" page - you will receive the poster-sized page at Meet the Teacher Night. This assignment offers your child a chance to teach others about himself or herself. It is a fun project. Please encourage your child to be creative, decorate it as you see fit, and return it to school so we can learn more about your son or daughter! Our Overall Me posters will be displayed in the hallway, for everyone to see In February, we will have another family project - a Valentine's Day themed poster. Students will get to tell all about the things they love, and the posters will be displayed in the hallway. In the spring, we will create a digital book about animals. This will be a research project, which you and your child will work on together. Examples from last year can be seen on our classroom website's page titled "Our Digital Books." |
